Love Hoddesdon Business Awards

Love Hoddesdon Business Awards

Love Hoddesdon Business Improvement District (BID) are delighted to announce the launch of the Love Hoddesdon Business Awards for 2022.

These awards aim to recognise and celebrate the diverse range of businesses in Hoddesdon town centre and amongst our voluntary members and supporters.

Awards will be made in the following categories:

Retailer of the Year
Food and Drink Retailer of the Year
Service Business of the Year
Health, Beauty and Well Being Business of the Year
Community/Charity Business of the Year
Voluntary Member of the Year

We are asking both local businesses and the general public to nominate in each of the above categories. A shortlist of 3 finalists will be selected from each category and one of these will be chosen as the overall winner, based on the level of nominations received.

Businesses must either be in the Love Hoddesdon Business Improvement District area (principally Hoddesdon town centre) or be registered as a voluntary member of Love Hoddesdon (this includes several local schools, local visitor attractions, local societies/organisations and the local church).

The period for nominations will be from Monday 14th November until Friday 23rd December 2022.

Nominations can only be made through this web-based nomination process, which is open to anybody to nominate in any of the categories.

Nominations should include contact details for yourself, the category in which the business is nominated and up to 30 words on why they should win.

Winners will be announced at the Love Hoddesdon BID Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 25th January 2023 at the Stanboroughs Club, Conduit Lane, Hoddesdon.

The period for nominations has ended.

Terms and Conditions

The Awards are free to enter. There is no restriction on how many categories a business can be entered in, but separate entry forms must be completed for each one.

Entries must be received no later than the deadline shown. No liability for entries lost or delayed in transmission will be accepted.

All nominations should be from an independent person. A business owner cannot nominate their own business, nor can any of its staff or employees nominate that business. If this does occur that business will automatically be disqualified from receiving an award.

Love Hoddesdon reserve the right to merge or split categories if the level of entrants warrants it. It also reserves the right to move entrants to another category, if deemed necessary.

Love Hoddesdon will generate an automated shortlist and winner from all the nominations received in each category. Any adjudication will be made independently by the BID Manager, in discussion with the Council's Cabinet Member for Economic Growth. Members of the BID Board will not been involved in this process.

Please note that by being shortlisted the business automatically becomes a finalist, and Love Hoddesdon will award a winner or highly commended at their discretion.

Love Hoddesdon reserves the right to publicise the results of the competition and use winning entries in press releases and published case histories.

All finalists will be encouraged to co-operate with the media.

Winners may refer to the competition in their own publicity material following approval by Love Hoddesdon of such material.
